CALIFORNIA – In an effort to promote the work of Independent and Small Press authors, LuckyCinda Publishing is proudly sponsoring its third annual book contest for self-published and independently published writers. All entrants of the E-Book Contest will receive free book marketing tips, and substantial discounts for consultations with big-name authors and expert book promoters.
LuckyCinda Publishing will consider self-published and independently published work released on or after Jan. 1, 2010. Accepting both Digital and Print copies.
Entries must be in English and must be self-published or issued by an independent publishing company.
Note: Authors using Print on Demand (POD) firms like Lightning Source or CreateSpace are also eligible for the competition.
Erotica welcome – judging will be looking at story content not how graphic your work is so keep that in mind when entering titles

JUDGING: A panel of journalists, authors and book marketing experts will judge the submitted work. In addition, two avid book readers will be part of our judging panel. If you would like to be a judge, please contact us: bookcontest2014@luckycinda.com.
Judging criteria:
Grand Prize Winner: We are looking for exceptional writing, especially the author’s ability to hold the reader’s interest as well as his/her ability to tell a story. The grand prize winning book will be an outstanding work with characters and a story that makes it shine above the rest. The overall presentation must be polished and professional. Two grand prize winners will be selected, one for fiction and one for non fiction.
First and Second Place: General excellence and the author’s story-telling technique will be considered. The writer must hold the reader’s interest and demonstrate the ability to develop plot and characters that connect with the reader.
The judging panel will choose two titles in each category that illustrate overall excellence. Honorable mentions will be chosen from a variety of categories to include general fiction, romance, adventure, historic, and mystery. All judges decisions are final.
- ENTRIES: An entry fee of $50 MUST accompany your submission. You can pay online through paypal or send a check or money order by mail. You can send us a hard copy, a PDF or digital copy on Kindle. FEES are NONREFUNDABLE.
